BELLEVUE, Wash. (September 24, 2013) – Boxgroove (www.boxgroove.com), an inventive, reliable online network offering golfers the opportunity to play private golf courses of their choosing, now includes Glen Echo Country Club in St. Louis, Mo. in the catalogue of private clubs Boxgroove members can play.
For private club members, Boxgroove makes traditional reciprocity easier for you when you travel. Instead of having to ask your Head Golf Professional to make numerous phone calls and then play the waiting game, you can complete the entire reciprocal tee time process online-simple and convenient. For those that don’t belong to a private club, Boxgroove provides a “member for the day” experience at hundreds of private clubs.
“We welcome the historic Glen Echo Country Club established in 1901 by US Open Winner James Foulis,” said McRedmond Morelli, founder and CEO of Boxgroove. “Many Boxgroove golfers will enjoy this classic parkland-style golf course that played host to the 1904 Summer Olympics in St. Louis, Mo.”
About Glen Echo Country Club
Glen Echo Country Club was founded in 1901 and is the oldest 18-hole private golf course west of the Mississippi River. Originally tasked with hosting the International Golf Championship in 1903, the announcement that the 1904 Olympic Games would be held in St. Louis triggered the abandonment of hosting the International Golf Championship in favor of the Olympic Games golf matches.
The club offers a par-71, 18-hole golf course along with clay tennis courts and a junior Olympic-size swimming pool.
“We are very excited to join the Boxgroove family!” said Barrett Martens, Head PGA Golf Professional at Glen Echo Country Club.
“Our members look forward to the opportunity to tour other private facilities around the country. We also are proud to be added as one of the host private facilities in the great stable of courses available at boxgroove.com!”
About Boxgroove
More than a tee-time aggregator, reciprocal-club network or fractionalized country-club membership, Boxgroove, founded in 2009, offers players seeking diverse golf experiences the opportunity to forge new golf relationships and play private courses in the United States, which they select from the Boxgroove options. Boxgroove provides members with meaningful opportunities to play private golf clubs around the U.S., a powerful arena for business and social networking, a simple Web-based method of accessing tee times at private golf clubs and a national community that shares passion for the game. Boxgroove’s Membership Lead Service is a valuable component of a club’s approach to member satisfaction. It provides club management the capability of contacting specific target groups of golfers, filtered and selected by each club, to present special offers or information. A prominent feature of the program is that Boxgroove will share its golfer analytic data with the executive staff of affiliated clubs to identify and reach out to prospective members.
Designed by private-club members, PGA Golf Professionals and private-club board members, Boxgroove works exclusively with private clubs to strengthen and grow membership, maximize revenue and increase club exposure.
