PISCATAWAY, N.J., September 19, 2013 – Frank Esposito, PGA Professional at Brooklake Country Club, Florham Park, NJ captured his record breaking 5th New Jersey PGA Professional Championship, shooting a 1-under-par 215 to claim victory in the 54-hole event that took place September 17-19, 2013, at famed Baltusrol Golf Club, in Springfield N.J. Jim McGovern, PGA Professional at White Beeches Golf & Country Club was runner-up, finishing 1 stroke back, while the defending Champion, Brian Gaffney, PGA Professional, Rumson Country Club, took 3rd place, finishing 2-strokes back.
Capturing the New Jersey PGA Section’s (NJPGA) most prestigious Major Championship adds to an incredible tournament season for Esposito, which includes victories at the NJPGA Senior Championship & the NJ State Open Championship. Esposito will now lead 12 PGA Professionals from New Jersey to compete in the 47th PGA Professional National Championship, June 22-25, 2014 in Myrtle Beach South Carolina.

The PGA Professional National Championship brings together a field of 312 contestants representing The PGA of America’s 41 nationwide sections. The 2014 PGA Professional National Championship will take place in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, acclaimed as “the Golf Capital of the World” for its roster of 120 courses. The Dunes Golf & Beach Club, designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., will serve as the primary host course in the National Championship, including the final 36 holes.
The PGA Professional National Championship, carrying a $550,000 total purse this year, will be broadcast (all four rounds) by GOLF CHANNEL. Following 36 holes of play, the field will be trimmed to the low 70 scorers and ties. In 2014, the low 20 scorers in the PGA Professional National Championship will advance to the 96th PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Ky.
