Novi, MI – 2THUMB putting grip ambassador and DP World Tour player, Matt Wallace, admitted being proud but resigned after missing out on being selected for the European Team at the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black in September. The Englishman made an impressive start to Team Europe’s qualification with an early win at the Omega European Masters last fall achieving his eleventh international tour title.
Fighting some technical flaws in his swing, Wallace finished 12th in the year-long standings and experienced “a heavy heart” when he was not selected as a captain’s pick by Luke Donald. Those were “a hard couple of weeks, more emotionally than physically, wanting to show myself and get onto the Ryder Cup team when it means so much to you,” said Wallace.
Walllace returns to compete on the PGA Tour this week at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship at Port Royal Golf Course in Southhampton, Bermuda, November
Pointing to his putting as an area of his game that he has significantly improved over the 2025 season, Wallace
uses 2THUMB’s Snug Tour 27 putting grip. Wallace interlocks his fingers with his palms opposing each other placing his two thumbs alongside each other on the 2THUMB grip. Known as the “prayer grip,” this helps Wallace’s shoulders to hang level while providing a consistent and reliable pendulum putting motion.
“A change in mindset, approach, and routine has really helped me get to a point where I am putting the best I have done,” he said.
2Thumb putting grips are approved by the USGA and R&A. They are an incredibly versatile grip that accommodates a variety of putting grip styles, from Conventional, Claw, Left hand low, Prayer etc.
