Novi, MI – 2THUMB putting grip ambassador and South African PGA TOUR professional, Christiaan Bezuidenhout, will be representing the International Team for the second time in his career at the 2024 Presidents Cup, Sept. 24- 29, at Royal Montreal Golf Club in Quebec, Canada. International Team Captain, Mike Weir, selected Bezuidenhout as one of his six captain’s picks to round out his 12-player team. Five countries will be represented including Australia, Canada, Japan, South Africa and South Korea.
“Bez,” as he is popularly known amongst his fellow players, recorded one of his best seasons on the PGA TOUR without a victory. He recorded a season-best runner-up finish at The American Express, where he lost to amateur Nick Dunlap by one shot, in a history-making finish in La Quinta, California earlier this year.
Bezuidenhout had a career-best 12 top-25 finishes on the PGA TOUR this season including three top-10s. He also represented South Africa in the Summer Olympics where he shot a 64 on Saturday putting himself six shots off the lead going into the final round on Sunday. He finished 16th.
“Christiaan is having the best year of his PGA TOUR career,” said Captain Weir. “He is incredibly steady on and off the golf course and is a player whose game will mesh well with any partner on the International Team.”
Jim Furyk will captain the U.S. Team for this year’s 15th Presidents Cup. The U.S. Team defeated the International Team by a 17.5-12.5 margin at Quail Hollow Club in 2022.
