Novi, MI – The Rocket Classic did not disappoint Sunday despite the relatively unknown players on the leaderboard coming down the stretch at the Detroit Golf Club. Aldrich Potgeiter, a 20-year-old from South Africa, outlasted Chris Kirk and then Max Greyerman, sinking an 18-foot birdie putt on the 5th playoff hole to win his first PGA Tour title. Potgeiter is the youngest player on the PGA TOUR and became the ninth first time winner in 2025.
For the second time in a matter of weeks, a pair of 2Thumb putting grip players finished inside the Top 10 at a PGA TOUR event.
Fellow countryman and 28-year-old 2Thumb player from Kempton Park, South Africa, finished T8 at the Rocket alongside major winners Matt Fitzpatrick and Collin Morikawa and another Two Thumb player from Tacoma, Washington and winner of the 2018 Barracuda Championship.
