NOVI, MI – Last week’s PGA TOUR opposite field events, the Wells Fargo Championship, a signature event, and the inaugural Myrtle Beach Classic, provided an exciting backdrop with two big victories for four-time major champion, Rory McIlroy, and first-time PGA Tour winner, Chris Gotterup on Sunday leading into this week’s second major of the season, the PGA Championship at Vahala Golf Club in Louisville, KY.
2Thumb performance putting grips had two players finish in the Top 20 in both events. The 28th ranked player in the FedExCup points from South Africa finished T16 at the Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, NC. He shot rounds of 70, 69, 72 and 72 for a total of 283 in the exclusive 70-player field competing for a $20 million purse. He earned $301,000.
Brand ambassador and PGA Tour champion Matt Wallace shot rounds of 72, 64, 70 and 67 to finish T20 at the Myrtle Beach Classic. Wallace shot 72, 64, 70 and 67 for a total of 273 at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club, in Myrtle Beach, SC.
