(OAK RIDGE, TN) – Centennial Golf Course – managed by Billy Casper Golf (BCG) – will host a grand re-opening on Monday, October 14 to showcase its newly renovated bunkers and clubhouse.
Festivities – open to the public – include a shotgun tournament beginning at 1:30 p.m., reduced greens and cart fees, food and beverage specials, and demo day featuring golf equipment from top manufacturers. The tournament is $35 per player and includes golf, lunch, range balls and prizes.
The bunkers have undergone a dramatic transformation and are designed to create a more modern aesthetic and increase playability for all golfers. Part of the clubhouse was painted, the restrooms were completely renovated and the back patio now includes rocking chairs for enjoying the scenic No. 9 and 18 holes.
“Centennial is delighted to unveil the upgraded experience for our loyal golfers,” says Brian Loveday, General Manager of Centennial Golf Course. “The course is truly a hidden gem in Eastern Tennessee and makes for a fun and enjoyable day for all players.”
One of the Knoxville-area’s premier public golf courses, the 18-hole, par-71, 6,633-yard Centennial Golf Course opened in 1997 and exhibits fun and challenging experiences for players of all skill levels. Designed by architect Gary Roger Baird, golfers are routed through natural forests and rolling Tennessee hills, its championship layout plush with Bermuda fairways and bent-grass greens.
Perfect for golfers to hone their games between rounds, a spacious practice area includes 40 hitting stations, grass tees, target greens, bunker and chipping areas, and three putting greens. The fully-stocked pro shop offers a wide selection of golf equipment and apparel along with club repair and certified custom fitting.
The Grill at Centennial provides a comfortable place to relax and enjoy magnificent views of the golf course.
Centennial has been designated a “Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary” by Audubon International for its high standards protecting the environment and preserving the natural heritage of golf. An effective program results in a reduction of maintenance costs, including insurance premiums, energy, water, pesticides, fertilizer, equipment wear and labor.
