Proceeds to benefit The First Tee of Chattanooga!
Chattanooga, TN – Scooter Pines Publishing is pleased to announce that Former No. 1 ranked female golfer in the world, current broadcaster for ESPN, PGA of America Board Director and children’s book author, Dottie Pepper, will be the keynote speaker this Friday, October 18, 2013 at a banquet celebrating Chattanooga PGA professionals at the Chattanooga Golf and Country Club. Proceeds from the dinner will benefit The First Tee of Chattanooga.
Pepper will share how important local professionals are to growing the game, Bogey’s mission to get kids playing golf, reading and having fun, and answering questions about her successful career on the LPGA tour, in addition to transitioning to sports commentating, becoming a PGA of America Board Director and children’s book author.
According to Mike Jenkins, the event organizer and The First Tee of Chattanooga board of
directors chairman, “we couldn’t be more thrilled to have Dottie join us and our golfing
community as we show our appreciation and thanks to all the local golf club staffers, the
golf teachers, and those that allow us to use their golf courses for our many area amateur
tournaments and events throughout Chattanooga.” Jenkins continued. “To borrow a quote
from Tom Watson, the club professionals are the people who carry the ball for this game,
not the pros in front of the cameras.”
The following day on Saturday, October 19th, Pepper will help conduct a free kids clinic at The First Tee of Chattanooga Facility for children 4 and older from 8:30 am – 11:30 am. Her special guest will be the Bogey Ballton mascot who is the main character of her children’s books, “Bogey Tees Off” and “Bogey Ballton’s Night Before Christmas.”
