The South African clinched the OneAsia title finishing at 9-under-par 279 on Nanshan International’s Montgomerie Course. Schwartzel entered Sunday’s final round three strokes behind fellow Old Palm member, Darren Clarke, and defending champion Liang Wenchong but shot a 68 to win by one.
“I’ve played a lot of golf tournaments and done a lot of traveling in the past few months and it felt like I’ve been playing really good golf with no results, so it’s nice to have something finally go your way,” says Schwartzel. “The fantastic golf course and practice facilities at Old Palm have really helped to hone my skills while preparing for events like this one.”
