Romeoville, IL – Dr. Jim Suttie, a PGA teaching professional at Mistwood Golf Club in Romeoville IL, has once again been listed among Golf Digest’s 50 Best Teachers. Suttie was ranked No. 18 on the prestigious list, which appears in the November 2013 issue.
Golf Digest, which has been ranking the top teachers in the game since the year 2000, polled 1,200 leading golf instructors nationwide to determine the 50 Best Teachers in America, as well as the best teachers in each state. Dr. Suttie was also listed as the No. 1 teacher in the state of Illinois.
“To be recognized by Golf Digest and voted by my peers in the industry as one of the 50 Best Teachers in the game and No. 1 in Illinois is very humbling and rewarding,” said Dr. Suttie.
Dr. Suttie is one of only a handful of instructors to have appeared on the Golf Digest list every year since 2000. In addition to his being honored annually by Golf Digest, Dr. Suttie was also named the National Teacher of the Year by the PGA in 2000.
Dr. Suttie graduated from Northern Illinois University before earning a doctorate in biomechanics from Middle Tennessee University. He has taught in the Chicagoland area for over 25 years, including teaching stints at Medinah and Cog Hill. Since the Mistwood Performance Center opened, Dr. Suttie has been proud to call Mistwood his home.
“I am very excited to bring my teaching experience to the new Mistwood Performance Center. To combine our award winning instructors with the state of the art teaching equipment and indoor facilities really makes this one of the top places in the country for golf instruction,” added Dr. Suttie.
Dr. Suttie joins John Platt, the 2011 Illinois Teacher of the Year, Mike Baldwin, and Chris Ioriatti to give the Mistwood Performance Center what is arguably one of the strongest teaching lineups in the nation.
