UST Mamiya® ProForce® VTS™ Used By Winner Of The Shriners Hospitals For Children Open

FORT WORTH, TX – October 21, 2013 – UST Mamiya, maker of the world’s finest carbon fiber golf shafts, reports the winner of the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open relied on PROFORCE VTS shafts in his Titleist® Driver and Fairway Woods to earn his first victory of the 2013/2014 season and fourth of his career.

“UST Mamiya wants to congratulate the winner of the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open” said Robb Schikner, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “This is the 14th win this year for the PROFORCE brand. PROFORCE VTS continues to prove, that when fit with proper weight, flex and torque, you will get optimal distance and control.”

PROFORCE VTS shafts were developed almost entirely through research and player feedback. UST Mamiya spent years researching the significant influence that torque has on distance, control and feel. The feedback revealed how players could control dispersion based on adjusting torque to their swing style. Perhaps more importantly, the research confirmed that the relationship that “feel” has to torque is infinitely more complex. Players who thought shafts were stiff or soft were not necessarily feeling the flex or weight, but were actually feeling torque. And when players are matched to the proper torque shaft, ball speed increases of up to 6 mph with dispersion reduced up to 30%!

All UST Mamiya carbon-fiber shafts are made using handcrafted, repeatable production techniques that incorporate world-class engineering and premium-selected raw materials. This combines with tight tolerances, constant taper design and low-resin content to enhance feel during the golf swing.

The company produces a variety of shaft models, including the renowned ATTAS, Elements, PROFORCE and Recoil lines, which have received significant usage on major professional tours internationally. Paralleling its achievements at the professional level, the company’s shafts have remained the top-selling aftermarket option in the United States the past six years.

Knowing that every golfer who installs a new shaft will also need a grip, UST Mamiya offers a line of premium offerings, with groundbreaking new models being introduced in 2013. They include the Tour PC 360™, Soft Touch™, Soft Touch Lite™, Soft Touch Wrap™ and ST1™ putter grips.
