After-school golf programs to enrich the lives of students in Union County, New Jersey
Union County, N.J. – TGA Premier Junior Golf (TGA), one of the leading grow-the-game initiatives in the golf industry, has awarded a fifth franchise in New Jersey to Nick Meltzer, a former financial services and investment executive.
Meltzer’s franchise joins 10 other TGA franchises serving students and families in more than 500 schools throughout the Northeast region of the United States.
A graduate of New York University with an MBA in Finance, Meltzer is an accomplished investment operations executive with experience in financial services, financial management and is highly skilled in collaborating with organizations to achieve business and financial objectives. He was looking for a more balanced work life and career that could incorporate sports and youth when he discovered TGA.
“I love kids and I love sports,” he said. “After 20 years in the financial services industry, I decided to follow my dreams and join TGA Premier Junior Golf. TGA’s unique opportunity allows me to pursue my passion for the sport I have been playing since early childhood while working with kids.”
TGA, which is one of the nation’s most successful and fastest growing youth sports companies, developed and implements a new and innovative school-based activation model that brings the sports of golf and tennis to school campuses through after-school enrichment curriculums.
“The Northeast is one of the largest golfing markets in the country and we are very excited to see the impact and growth that our school-based model is having on the region,” said Steve Tanner, TGA chief operating officer. “Nick’s strong business background, community ties and passion for youth sports, will make him very successful in executing our model and enriching the lives of youth in Union County.”
TGA Premier Junior Golf of Union County will impact thousands of youth annually introducing golf to children at elementary and middle schools, child-care centers and community-based organizations through a multi-level instruction program. TGA will then transition the students to local partner golf courses through camps, community play days and parent-child events.
“With having two-daughters ages 5 and 7, it is so rewarding to be able to develop affordable after-school enrichment programs that promote life skills and teach a lifelong sport. This is a curriculum I will be proud to offer all the children of Union County,” Metzler said.
