Norcross, Ga. – (Nov.11, 2013) – Mizuno USA, a world-class leader in golf technology and innovation, expands the new JPX EZ game-improvement line with the introduction of a dynamic JPX EZ Woods offering featuring Mizuno’s first adjustable JPX EZ Driver, JPX EZ Fairway Woods and the JPX EZ Hybrid. Engineered for the passionate amateur golfer, the JPX EZ lineup of Woods provides balanced performance, tremendous distance and ultimate forgiveness.
JPX EZ Driver
Mizuno launches the fully adjustable JPX EZ Driver which allows for loft, lie, and face angle customization to create the optimal setting for golfers of all skill levels. The driver’s new Quick Switch mechanism has eight intuitive settings that offer an array of ball flights. It also features a Rebound Crown Design for increased ball speed and optimized head geometry to achieve a high launch with low spin for maximum carry and roll out off the tee. The JPX EZ Driver will appeal to a wide range of players with its sleek, aggressive black ion plating and matte crown paint.
“This was our first foray into the realm of customizing and adjustability,” said Chuck Couch, VP of Product Management, Golf Division. “With the driver, we wanted to deliver a product designed for the ‘everyday’ average golfer that would aid their game and give the look, feel and overall golf experience that passionate golfers seek.”
Mid-to-High handicap players will benefit from the HOT METAL face design allowing for a larger COR area for increased distance and Ti 811 body material that provides the optimum COG placement for easy high launch with low spin. Furthermore, the JPX EZ Driver utilizes Harmonic Impact Technology (H.I.T.) providing golfers the right balance of sound, feel and feedback at impact.
JPX EZ Fairway Woods
In creating the JPX EZ Fairway Woods, Mizuno set out to do just what the name suggests, create the easiest to hit fairway wood on the market by focusing on ease of launch, high initial ball speeds and maximum forgiveness. With its deep, 192cc face design, the JPX EZ Fairway Woods will challenge drivers for distance and forgiveness off the tee while a square club face will provide golfers with the confidence to hit them straight down the fairway.
“Golfers at any level will see their ability to hit the ball longer and straighter increase with the new JPX EZ Fairway Wood,” said Couch. “It is also important for the fairway wood to look proper in the address position, so we ensured a squared face shape to deliver the confidence to swing away.”
The JPX EZ Fairway Woods also utilize a HOT METAL face design with an ultra-thin Maraging steel face for solid feel and explosive distance while providing the maximum allowable limit of COR by the USGA. Similar to the JPX EZ driver, the EZ Fairway Woods utilizes a Rebound Crown Design for greater COR area and increased ball speeds, while incorporating Mizuno’s innovative H.I.T. technology to deliver a solid feel and powerful sound at impact.
JPX EZ Hybrid
Rounding out the JPX EZ Woods line, the JPX EZ Hybrid comes armed with incredible ball speeds while delivering an easy launch and generous playability from any lie making it an ideal all-around versatile club for players of all levels. Simply put, this hybrid will allow players to attack the golf course and shoot lower scores.
“The JPX hybrid is a club players will want to put in their bag as it’s incredibly versatile and even in a tricky lie the ball jumps off the club face,” said Couch. “The majority of amateur golfers are intimidated with long irons into greens, but the JPX EZ Hybrid takes the fear out the golfers’ hands and provides the confidence needed to hit the shot.”
The new low and deep weighting design with a stainless steel body and a thin crown provides players with a high launch and steep landing angle allowing for shots to land softer and hold the greens. Like the other EZ woods, the hybrid utilizes HOT METAL technology and Rebound Crown Design with an ultra-thin Maraging face to deliver the maximum allowable limit of COR by the USGA. Mizuno Harmonic Impact Technology (H.I.T.) creates the perfect sound at impact.
