2013 addition to Callaway’s tour staff wins McGladrey Classic
CARLSBAD, Calif., November 11, 2013 – Callaway Staff Professional Chris Kirk picked his spots early on Sunday and then turned it on with clutch play down the stretch to win the McGladrey Classic. Kirk shot 66-66-68-66 and delivered again and again on Sunday in what turned out to be a thrilling two-man showdown over the final four holes. He made birdies on 11 and 12, rolled in a clutch 15-foot birdie putt on 17 to tie the lead, and made a two-putt par on 18 to close out a one-shot win.
With his victory on Sunday, the Callaway Staff Pro is up to 4th place in the FedExCup standings, joining Gary Woodland and Ryo Ishikawa in the top 10. This is also the second straight McGladrey Classic win for Callaway after Tommy Gainey fired a final round 60 to win the event last year.
