York, PA, November 8, 2013 – Club Management magazine has named Jim G. James, CCM, 2013 Club Executive of the Year. A member of Club Managers Association of America (CMAA) as well as the Georgia Chapter of CMAA, James has served as Senior Director, Club and Hospitality Operations at Augusta National Golf Club, Augusta, Ga., home to the Masters Tournament for the past 18 years.
James is responsible for maintaining and advancing the service standards of the Club throughout the season for its members and their guests.
During the Masters, he oversees all quality standards and financial goals relating to hospitality, including administering member, sponsor, and player services. James’s team is responsible for coordinating the service of over 10,000 meals per day; supported by 22 dining rooms and thousands of service professionals.
His many community activities include support for the Special Olympics, Love’s Reach International (Orphans Ministry), and the Goodwill Industries of Augusta and Helms College. James has also served on the Club Foundation Board of Governors for the past eight years.
As described by Mr. G. Mead Grady, CCM, a former Club Executive of the Year himself, “Jim has a servant’s heart and has demonstrated his desire to help others his entire professional career. He has the uncanny sense of awareness and knows when positive action is warranted. He has incredible determination to make every day better than the day before.”
Chris Borders, CCM, and recently retired General Manager of the Atlanta Athletic Club, Atlanta, Ga., adds “The standards that are established by Augusta National are legendary. Most clubs aspire to be like Augusta National. Few even approach. And it takes someone of Jim’s talents and dedication and demeanor to assist in guiding this club to its greatness.”
The award is sponsored by Toronto, Ontario, Canada-based Global Golf Advisors, Inc. (GGA).
