Three players in top 15 playing Volvik golf balls
Volvik staff player Pornanong Phatlum finished T5 at the Lorena Ochoa Invitational Sunday on the LPGA Tour. Phatlum now ranks #26 on the 2013 LPGA Tour money list after shooting 10-under-par and earning $42,479 at the event.
She has earned three Top 5’s and six Top 10’s this year, earning just under $500,000. It is far and away a career year for Phatlum on the LPGA Tour this year, her first full year playing Volvik golf balls. Phatlum plays Pink Vista 4-piece golf balls.
Three out of the four players using Volvik this week, which accounted for 11% of the field, finished in the Top 15 of the event played in the former LPGA Tour star Lorena Ochoa’s home country of Mexico.
Volvik staff players Chella Choi, ranked 17th on the LPGA money list, finished T12 and Ilhee Lee, ranked #24 on the LPGA money list, finished T14 at the event.
The Top 5 finish by Phatlum was the 12th Top 5 finish for a player using Volvik golf balls this year on the LPGA Tour. Five different players have finished in the Top 5 using a Volvik golf ball this year and company officials estimate that Volvik has received over $1.7 million in television airtime exposure from their players.
Players using Volvik colored golf balls have earned one Victory, 21 Top 10 finishes and 44 total Top 25 finishes in 2013 on the LPGA Tour.
There are currently four Volvik staff players in the Top 50 on the 2013 LPGA money list and nine Volvik players in the Top 100 on the LPGA money list: #17 Choi (Orange), #24 Ilhee Lee (Yellow), #26 Pornanong Phatlum (Pink) , #46 Meena Lee (Yellow),# 65 Jee Young Lee (Orange), #73 Thidapa Suwannapura (Pink), #77 Lindsey Wright (Orange), #91 Jeong Jang (Pink) and #92 Mi Hyang Lee (Pink).
Volvik has 190 total instances of professionals using their Vista golf balls in tournament play on the 2013 LPGA Tour (76 Orange, 69 Yellow, 41 Pink and 3 Green).
Only one event remains on the 2013 LPGA Tour, the CME Group Titleholders, taking place this week in Naples, FL. Five players will be playing a Volvik golf ball in the final event.
