(PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla.) – Old Palm Golf Club – the premier private and exclusive residential golf club community in the Palm Beaches – congratulates resident and member Charl Schwartzel on defending his title at the Alfred Dunhill Championship.

The South African captured his third career Alfred Dunhill victory this past weekend at Leopard Creek Country Club in Malelane, South Africa with a 17-under-par score of 271. Schwartzel held the overnight lead and shot a bogey-free final round 4-under 68 to win by four strokes.

“It’s always nice to get a win and get some confidence up and see the game is in good shape,” says Schwartzel. “Old Palm is unparalleled in every regard and I couldn’t ask for a more spectacular venue to sharpen my game in the U.S.”

“Old Palm has attracted leading professional golfers like Charl to the Club’s outstanding golf facilities and world-class amenities,” says Darlene Impellittiere, General Manager of Old Palm Golf Club. “Our community offers these players and their families a worry-free and relaxing lifestyle in a magnificent location to help them play their best.”

There are now more PGA TOUR players living in South Florida than anywhere else in the U.S., and many of them have chosen to call Old Palm home. In addition to Schwartzel, Lee Westwood and Louis Oosthuizen have purchased homes at Old Palm, each citing its exclusivity, gracious neighborhoods, award-winning independent builders and sense of kinship among residents and members.

Old Palm’s 7,401-yard Raymond Floyd-designed tournament-caliber golf course presents an enticing blend of power and precision-oriented holes. Traditional square tee boxes give the course a classic feel, and large landing areas and subtly-elevated greens emphasize approach shot values.

A game-improvement enthusiast’s dream, Old Palm’s 33-acre “Golf Studio” houses a double-ended range, V-1-equipped hitting bay with TrackMan technology and short-game area. Three full-length practice holes – a par 3, 4 and 5 – allow golfers to replicate shots and angles they encounter on the par-72 course.
