TORONTO – NOVEMBER 22, 2013 Hollas Apparel announces today the signing of James Erkenbeck for a golf apparel contract. Erkenbeck, 24-year old phenom from San Diego, California joins the Hollas family as a staff professional and will be fully outfitted in apparel, including technical bottoms, polos, layering pieces, and accessories.
At the University of New Mexico, James recorded an impressive 2013 season in which he was named a PING First Team All American and the Mountain West Conference Player of the Year.
Prior to turning professional, James was ranked as high as 9th in the R&A World Amateur Rankings and he played a key role to Team USA’s success and victory at the 2013 Palmer Cup.
James begins the second stage of Q School this week at Bear Creek Golf Club in Murrieta, California. Should he advance, he will play in the finals of the Web.com Tour Qualifying Tournament from Dec. 12-17 at the PGA West Stadium Course in La Quinta, CA.
“James is a talented, young player with an impressive portfolio – rare for a player only 24 years of age” says Don Nichols, President of Hollas. “We’re excited to partner with James as he embarks on the challenges of Q-School, and we’re confident that it won’t be long before he’s turning heads and finding a new world of success as a professional player”.
