SteelFiber Takes T3 At Northwestern Mutual World Challenge

December 11, 2013

BELLINGHAM, Wash. – SteelFiber shafts, designed and manufactured by Aerotech Golf, took a share of third-place at the Northwestern Mutual World Challenge this weekend. Playing i95 shafts in his Bridgestone irons, the 13-year pro shot a 279 at Sherwood and tied for No. 1 for Greens in Regulation and No. 1 in Eagles.

SteelFiber shafts are the No. 1 graphite irons shafts on the PGA and Champions Tours. In 2013, players with SteelFiber shafts in their irons won five events on the PGA TOUR and two events on the Champions Tour.

“It’s very rewarding to see SteelFiber shafts continue to lead as the No. 1 graphite iron shafts on the pro tours,” says Chris Hilleary, president of Aerotech Golf. “While there are always many factors in any success story, SteelFiber shafts enhance both performance and playability. For example, SteelFiber shafts provide greater vibration dampening and reduce player fatigue, while also giving players the stability and consistency of steel shafts. I think that combination is the real secret to game-changing innovation.”

Last season, players with SteelFiber shafts ranked No. 2 and No. 3 in the FedEx Cup Season Points at the end of the regular season. SteelFiber shafts were also No. 6 and No. 12 in FedEx Cup Playoff Points; and ended 2013 overall as No. 3 and No. 5 on the PGA Money List; Nos. 8 and 9 in official world rankings; and tied for first and fourth in Top 10 finishes.

SteelFiber shafts provide superior performance through innovative composite engineering that combines a high-modulus graphite core with 59 miles of steel fiber lacing the shaft surface. The shaft’s graphite core provides vibration dampening, increased clubhead speed and maximum distance, while the steel fibers produce optimum weighting for a solid feel at impact and add stability and control for pinpoint accuracy.

Aerotech Golf shafts are available as custom options with many nationally celebrated golf club manufacturers such as Titleist, TaylorMade, Nike Golf, Bridgestone Golf, Cleveland Golf, Miura, Srixon, KZG, Nakashima and Scratch Golf. Aerotech Golf shafts are also available through professional golf clubfitters around the world. Aerotech Golf is a proud supporter of the Association of Golf Clubfitting Professionals (AGCP) and the International Clubmakers Guild (ICG).
