Illinois-native Brad Hisel to take over at Bull Valley Golf Club; Russ Onizuka returns to Black Gold Golf Club

NORTHBROOK, Ill., Dec. 17, 2013 – KemperSports, the most trusted name in golf, announced today that it has chosen Brad Hisel as general manager at Bull Valley Golf Club in Woodstock, Ill. and Russ Onizuka as general manager at Black Gold Golf Club in Yorba Linda, Calif.

A native of Crystal Lake, Ill., Hisel brings with him more than 12 years of experience in the golf club industry that includes general manager duties at High Point Golf Club in Montague, N.J., and New York Country Club in Hempstead, N.Y., where he was responsible for adding 100 new members over a three-year span.

In addition to the golf course, the Club includes a recently renovated 37,000 square-foot clubhouse featuring multiple dining rooms, grill, men’s and women’s locker rooms, pro shop, member lounge, and two banquet rooms that can host up to 400 guests. Expansive outdoor gathering spaces can accommodate weddings and gatherings up to 300 guests, making Bull Valley one of the most sought after event venues in the northwest suburbs of Chicago.

“Bull Valley is one of the iconic clubs in the Northwest Chicago region,” said Steve Skinner, chief executive officer of KemperSports. “We are confident that Brad is the leader that we need to benefit the members and their guests at Bull Valley Golf Club.”

Russ Onizuka returns to Black Gold Golf Club as he previously served as director of golf from 2010-2012. In addition to his previous post at the Club, he also has held general manager positions at Foxtail Golf Club in Rohnert Park, Calif., and most recently at Crystal Springs Golf Course in Burlingame, Calif.

Owned by the city of Yorba Linda and managed by KemperSports since opening in 2001, Black Gold Golf Club is a par-72, Arthur Hills design set amongst the rolling hills and beautiful views of the Orange County Foothills.

“Russ has shown a proven track record of success in past leadership roles at Black Gold Golf Club,” said Skinner. “We look forward to new ideas and innovations that can add to the guest experience at the Club.”
