Tinley Park, IL. (Dec. 17, 2013) – Matt Kuchar trusted his Bettinardi Kuchar Model 1 at the Franklin Templeton Shootout to win with his partner in record setting fashion. The two-man team never trailed after shooting 64-60-58 which tied the 54-hole scoring record for a total of 34-under par. The seven-stroke margin of victory also broke the tournament record of six-strokes set in 1999.
“We are extremely proud of Matt for winning his 3rd event of 2013,” says Bob Bettinardi, President of Bettinardi Golf. “We congratulate Matt on his stellar season and look forward to watching his red hot play continue in 2014.”
Kuchar currently ranks 1st on the PGA Tour in 2013 for consecutive cuts made at 28 in a row. The victory marks Matt’s 7th win of his career and 3rd professional victory of 2013. Bettinardi Golf has currently garnered 5 professional wins in 2013 with 4 coming on the PGA Tour, and 1 from the Champions Tour.
“With the type of season and momentum Bettinardi Golf has had in 2013, we are poised to continue to make our mark on the PGA and worldwide tours in the coming years. More and more players want to play the best and they respect the quality and feel of every one of our putters”, added Bettinardi.
The Bettinardi Kuchar Model 1 putter was released in May as part of Bettinardi Golf’s production line of putters that were exclusively designed with Matt Kuchar. The Kuchar Model 1 is a heel toe weighted, face-balanced blade that features Bettinardi’s patented F.I.T. face. The Model 2 is a pear shaped, face-balanced mallet. Both Models are available as an arm lock putter, or in standard length.
