Sanford, FL – Zack Fischer using his RIFE 2-Bar Hybrid Belly putter, closed with an 8-under 64 on Tuesday in Q-School to earn the top status on the Web.com Tour next year.
Fischer finished at 31-under 401 in the six-round tournament held at PGA West in La Quinta, CA. As the medalist, he is fully exempt and assured entry into every Web.com Tour event for the 2014 season.
Fischer was focused on trying to get back to even par after his first-round 75 left him tied for 130th in the 152-man field after the first of six rounds. But he shot 34 under par over his next five rounds and carded just three bogeys over the final 90 holes compared to 33 birdies and two eagles.
Fischer birdied his final two holes of the tournament, sinking a 25-footer on the final hole, then stood on the side of the green as his playing partners putted out, his hat off and head down, overwhelmed by the emotions of the long week.
RIFE PGA Tour Rep, Kyle Ulrikson, watched Fischer make that final putt and later that evening received a text message from Fischer. “Zack texted me and said he had won the event and that he owed it all to the RIFE 2-Bar Hybrid putter he had received from us earlier this year,” said Ulrikson. “Everyone at RIFE is excited about Zack’s victory, and we can’t wait to see him in action out on the Web.com Tour next season.”
Fischer and his RIFE putter made headlines earlier this year when he sank a birdie putt on the ninth hole of a playoff against Ryan Palmer to capture the final spot to play in the U.S. Open at Merion.
Fischer is just one of the many non-endorsed Professional Tour Players who choose to play a RIFE putter even though they’re not paid to play it. “The Tour Players play our putter because it helps them earn a bigger paycheck on Sunday,” said Kyle Ulrikson, PGA Tour Rep for RIFE Golf, “and we’re very proud of that. Our RollGroove Technology grips and lifts the ball into an instant forward roll and gets it on line and headed towards the
cup quicker than any other putter in the industry. If it’s good enough for the best golfers in the world you can bet it’s going to help you sink more putts as well.”
About RIFE Golf
RIFE Golf is the true innovator behind horizontal grooved face putter technology with a patent on specifically sized grooves since 1997. These precisely spaced grooves allow the putter to gently press into the cover of the ball and grip and lift it into an instant forward roll. RIFE states, “just as grooves in irons help control spin so do grooves in a putter face.” Other companies are now trying to imitate this patented technology but the spacing of the grooves is the true key to the gripping and lifting effect of grooved face putter technology. Horizontal RollGrooveTM faced putters create the truest “no skid” roll in golf no matter where you hit the ball on the putter face.
