Former GolfNow sales leader vows to keep golf course clients No. 1 priority

December 18, 2013, Richmond, Va. – Shannon Lanyi, a proven leader in golf business solutions sales, has been named director of sales for Play18 Solutions.

Lanyi, who helped create some of the most profitable markets for GolfNow, also has an excellent sales track record at Cypress Golf, Golf Channel and Quick18.

“Shannon Lanyi has been a valuable asset to the success of solutions companies for the golf business over the past nine years,” said Play18 Solutions CEO Brett Darrow, who worked with Lanyi at GolfNow and Quick18. “We’re happy she is bringing her experience and high level of understanding to Play18 Solutions.”

At Play18 Solutions, Lanyi will continue to lead a progressive sales initiative for the new solutions company, which launched Dec. 2, 2013. Lanyi said Play18 Solutions would deliver the transparency and total solutions that golf operations need.

Unlike other industry providers who implement a barter system with a course’s premier tee times and then resell them at dramatically reduced prices, Play18 Solutions utilizes a performance-based pricing structure, allowing courses to keep their pricing structure intact.

“We want to be a positive influence on the changes that need to happen within the golf industry and we intend to do this by keeping the golf course client No. 1,” said Lanyi. “We have listened to golf course operators for more than a decade and we know what they need in order to more effectively run their businesses.”

Lanyi earned a bachelor’s degree in justice studies at Arizona State University and a law degree from California Western School of Law.
