Seminars to be held Jan. 24, Jan. 25, Feb. 18
NORCROSS, Ga. – U.S. Kids Golf will open the 2014 season with three Certified Instructor Seminars in Florida, two of which coincide with the 2014 PGA Merchandise Show. The seminar on Jan. 24 at Marriott Golf Academy is sold out, while availability remains for the seminar on Jan. 25 at Falcons Fire Golf Club (Kissimmee) and on Feb. 18 at the PGA Center for Learning & Performance (Port St. Lucie).
The U.S. Kids Golf Certified Instructor program is led by John Godwin, PGA Master Professional and 2004 PGA of America National Junior Golf Leader, and John Bryan, Vice President of U.S. Kids Golf Foundation and former Executive Director of the Georgia PGA. During the seminars, Bryan and Godwin focus on best practices that help develop junior golfers, such as an introduction to game-based teaching, the importance of properly fitted equipment, and how to scale the game for the beginning golfer.
“We are pleased to bring Seminars to Orlando during the PGA Merchandise Show when so many PGA and LPGA members and golf professionals from all over the world will have the opportunity to participate,” Bryan said. “Additionally, the February date should provide a great chance for many of the professionals who spend winters in Florida to attend.”
Both PGA of America and LPGA Professionals earn continuing education credits for their participation. Additional credits may be earned by completing the Positive Coaching Alliance test, which is a follow-up component of the Seminar. Since March 2012, more than 1,000 PGA and LPGA professionals have participated in a U.S. Kids Golf Certified Instructor Seminar.
Registrations submitted before two weeks of the seminar date are $195, and registrations submitted within two weeks of the date of the seminar are $245. Additional Certified Instructor Seminars will be announced in January.
