TUSTIN, CA – January 5, 2013 – Tustin Ranch Golf Club, a Tustin community cornerstone for 25-years, with its signature Ted Robinson designed golf course, award winning instructional golf staff, delectable food and unforgettable weddings, is pleased to announce that newly appointed Chef Bert S. Agor Jr. is prepared to launch a series of cooking and educational classes.
Chef Bert is known for his affinity to seafood. He has included the freshest seafood buffet into the club’s weekly discerning champagne brunch and it is fitting he is starting his special series of cooking and educational classes with Sushi 101. Chef Bert will teach the attendees how to cut sashimi as well as make Maki and Nigiri rolls. He will also include discussions on different rice grains, seaweed wraps, and which fish to eat raw.
According to Chef Bert, “I am extremely passionate about cooking. This stems from my childhood where I watched my father and grandfather prepare food as Executive Chefs and Restaurant Owners. I want to share my experience and my passion for cooking with the community of Tustin. Sushi is the perfect class to start with as it is highly popular in the area and isn’t as intimidating to prepare as it might seem. It will be fun and educational.”
Sushi 101 Educational and Cooking Class will be held on Saturday, January 11th from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. The cost is $29.95 which includes the class, sushi, and sake, limited to two glasses. “Those who attend this class will enjoy learning about sushi but will truly enjoy eating what we prepare,” added Chef Bert. Space is limited to the first 30 to enroll. To secure your reservation, please call 714-734-2111.
Chef Bert is an accomplished chef whose passion to become a chef originated from his childhood where on the Island of Kauai he watched both his father and grandfather prepare food as Executive Chefs and Restaurant owners. His extensive experience includes working as a corporate training chef for the world’s greatest fine dining steakhouse – Ruth Chris. He most recently was the Training Chef for Restaurants Unlimited, a Seattle based restaurant group that consisted of 52 top rated restaurants from the east coast to the west coast.
“My mission at Tustin Ranch Golf Club is to create an unforgettable dining experience that exceeds all expectations through outstanding culinary execution, which expands the vision of ‘Aloha’ with professional experience, hard work, communication, and teamwork,” added Chef Bert.
