Scottsdale, AZ (January 7, 2014) – Things are definitely heating up on the All-American Gateway Tour (AAGT) with the first five fall tournaments of the Arizona Series in the books and the next five winter events about to start. Players are vying to not only move up the money list, but also competing for the highly-sought after Web.com Tour exemptions being handed out by AAGT.
AAGT officials announced yesterday that a second Web.com Tour exemption into the Air Capital Classic presented by AETNA will be up for grabs during the next five winter tournaments of the Arizona Series. The Web.com Tour event, which will celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2014, will be played June 16-22, with Crestview Country Club hosting for the 14th year in a row.
Another “Points Race” will be conducted throughout the five tournaments with the cumulative points leader for those five events earning the exemption. The five tournaments that will help decide the exemption winner will be played at the Raven at Verrado (Jan. 13-15), Papago Golf Course (Jan. 20-22), Anthem Persimmon (Jan. 28-30), Anthem Ironwood (Feb. 11-13) and will conclude at Wigwam Red Feb. 18-20. ONLY AAGT members are eligible to compete for the exemption.
This is the second of three planned “Points Races” AAGT will hold throughout the Arizona Series season. AAGT member, Brock Mackenzie earned the first Web.com Tour exemption, and will be playing in the BMW Charity Pro-Am, May 16-19 at the Thornblade Club in Greer, South Carolina. The final “Points Race” will be conducted during AAGT’s five spring tournaments (Mar. 5 – Apr. 11).
