IRVINE, CA – January 15, 2014 – FOURTEEN GOLF, a premium boutique golf equipment company known for their award winning wedges, irons and global golf presence on most tours, plans to release its new DJ-11 Wedge with its wide sole setting at the upcoming 2014 PGA Demo Day and 2014 PGA Merchandise Show.
According to FOURTEEN GOLF COO Marcy Kamoda, “The new DJ-11 Wedge is a completely new series of wedges from FOURTEEN GOLF. They’ve been designed to help every level of golfer to get out of the sand easily and to improve confidence on any approach shot.”
FOURTEEN GOLF knows the importance of the short game. The company has garnered a reputation throughout the world as being the preeminent wedge designer and the RM-12 Wedge with its Golf Digest “Hot List” ranking verifies it. The new DJ-11 Wedge follows the FOURTEEN GOLF wedge heritage.
The DJ-11 Wedge features a unique wide set sole with moderate bounce that enables golfers to get out of sand traps easily and slides through the grass minimizing the “chunked shot” or “fat hit”. It reduces most approach shot mistakes. The neck portion of the wedge has a small offset which emphasizes the roundness of the club face and makes the club look more comfortable to hit. In addition, it allows the club face to square up easily and helps with visualization.
The weight distribution on the DJ-11 Wedge is ideal as the wide sole, reverse tapered blade and cavity on the back face provides the perfect design for weighting. “The overall design of the DJ-11 Wedge allowed the engineers to perfectly distribute the weight and the results are effective. This wedge generates the perfect club head speed as well as stabilizes the head at impact,” added Kamoda.
The DJ-Wedge utilizes FOURTEEN GOLF’s original “new trapezoidal grooves.” The grooves have been methodically designed by accounting for each groove’s individual depth and width. These measurements were taken in order to increase the amount of ball friction between the club face, groove, and ball to generate a high spin amount in any circumstance whether it be a dry or wet condition. In addition, FOURTEEN GOLF takes twice the time and expense to precisely mirror mill each groove. This procedure guarantees the highest spin performance possible.
To resist wear and tear, the club head of the DJ-11 Wedge is manufactured of a nickel chrome molybdenum steel. It is one of the most durable metals on the market and this specialized material prevents immediate wear of the grooves and maintains high spin performance for a long time. A non-glare nickel chrome plated half matte finish prevents visual distractions from the sun.
The new DJ-11 Series of Wedges will be available to hit at the PGA Demo Day held on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at the Orange County National Golf Center in Orlando, FL. FOURTEEN GOLF will be located on the driving range where their entire 2014 line of golf equipment will be available to demonstrate.
If attendees miss an opportunity to experience FOURTEEN GOLF equipment during the demo day, they can visit the FOURTEEN GOLF booth in the Equipment Testing Center at hitting bay #41 during the PGA Merchandise Show at the Orange County Convention Center. The company will be exhibiting from Wednesday, January 22nd to Friday, January 24th.
