BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. (January 21, 2014) – Bobby Clampett, who is revolutionizing the way golf is taught and learned, will open his first Impact Zone Golf® Teaching Academy at the Gateway Golf and Country Club in Fort Myers, Fla., on March 1.
Through his Impact-Based™ Teaching and his company, Impact Zone Golf, Clampett has established golf’s premier instructional program. In selecting Gateway Golf and Country Club as the site for the academy, Clampett has teamed up with one of the country’s finest short game and practice facilities, which features ample teeing area, three short-game areas, four practice greens and two practice holes, in addition to it’s championship 18-hole course designed by Tom Fazio.
Additionally, the academy will launch a Junior Development Program and an Elite Development Program in which Clampett will personally help design and contribute. Promising young golfers as well as top amateurs and professionals will have the opportunity to tone their competitive skills with a 35-year PGA Tour veteran and his talented team of Certified Instructors.
Clampett recently became the first PGA Tour professional to earn his certification as PGA Master Professional of Teaching and Coaching, which is the PGA of America’s highest educational honor.
This year Clampett is scheduling private golf instruction for the first time in his teaching career, with sessions available when he is not competing on the Champions Tour, or on assignment as a television golf broadcaster. On the air with CBS Sports since 1991, Clampett remains competitive on the Champions Tour, having earned more than $1 million and accumulating seven Top 5 finishes, going into the 2014 season.
Also, Clampett will appear at the annual PGA Merchandise Show, Jan. 22-25 (Booth 1159F) in Orlando.
Clampett founded Impact Zone Golf in 2009 largely in response to golf professionals who wanted to teach the method, as well as golfers who inquired about taking lessons, based on what they learned in his book, which was published in 2007.
