More than 400,000 rounds booked in 2013 through ‘Play Nine’ on GolfNow
ORLANDO, Fla. (Jan. 21, 2014) – GolfNow, the leading tee time reservation and golf course technology platform, announced that more than 400,000 rounds were booked in 2013 as a result of its ‘Play Nine’ campaign. Marking a 72% year-over-year increase from 2012, golfers are increasingly turning to GolfNow to book tee times through the 9-hole or after-5 p.m. reservation options.
The ‘Play Nine’ initiative was developed to offer a solution for golfers to find the time amidst a busy schedule to go out and play by marketing golf courses’ 9-hole and underutilized tee time inventory. Through ‘Play Nine’, GolfNow is making that process simpler by providing this option for golfers to tee it up for a 9-holes at one of a number of courses within its growing network of more than 5,000 golf facilities.
“We recognize that golfers aren’t always able to find the time to play a full 18-hole round. With the ‘Play Nine’ campaign, we are showcasing a practical avenue for fitting golf into a busy schedule, while also bringing new golfers to the game,” said Jeff Foster, Senior Vice President of GolfNow’s New Media Group. “The more than 400,000 9-hole or after-5 p.m. rounds booked through GolfNow last year are a clear testament to our commitment to growing the game, and we anticipate seeing this positive trend continue in 2014.”
The ‘Play Nine’ campaign also provides an additional revenue stream for course operators choosing to embrace 9-hole tee times. Course operators electing to participate in the ‘Play Nine’ campaign saw significant increases in revenue and were able to monetize previously unused tee times.
