PHOENIX (Jan. 22, 2014) – Breaking its own record of 11, PING announced today it earned 15 gold awards in the 2014 Golf Digest “Hot List”, more than any other single brand for the third-straight year. The annual equipment review is recognized as the go-to resource for golfers looking for a comprehensive and expert analysis of the highest-performing equipment on the market. The results will be published in the March issue of the magazine.
“Knowing what goes into our product designs, we always look forward to the Golf Digest Hot List results with great confidence,” said John A. Solheim, PING Chairman & CEO. “But this year’s results are record-setting for us. It is tremendous validation for our engineering team and their approach to custom-engineering golf equipment that improves performance and helps golfers play better.”
PING was the only company to earn at least one gold award in every product category tested. The i25 and G25 series were both recognized with the highest honors in the driver, fairway wood, hybrid and iron categories. The G25 series swept gold for the second-consecutive year. All four PING irons submitted for consideration were awarded gold. The new i25, Karsten and S55 irons joined the G25 in the three iron categories reviewed.
For the second-straight year, the Tour wedge with Gorge grooves earned a gold award. One of only four wedges to win gold, the Editors cited the Tour wedge’s “efficient design from groove to sole” among its award-winning attributes.
Four PING putters, each featuring the company’s innovative variable-depth grooves, earned gold honors. In the blade category, the new Karsten TR was the only putter in the entire review to earn five stars for Performance, Innovation and Look/Feel/Sound while earning a gold award. The new Scottsdale TR Anser T and its arched alignment aid was recognized with a gold award. The mallet category honored the Scottsdale TR counter-balanced Senita B model, and the Nome TR, each earning high praise for its performance and innovation.
