Volvik staff players started out the 2014 LPGA Tour season with a 3rd place finish by Pornanong Phatlum, as well as a T11 finish by Thidapa Suwannapura and a T13 finish by Chella Choi, at the Pure Silk Bahamas LPGA Classic Sunday.
The Top 5 finish and three Top 15 finishes got Volvik off to a solid start in their quest to surpass their phenomenal 2013 LPGA Tour success where Volvik staff players experienced one win, 13 Top 5 finishes, 22 Top 10 finishes and 48 total Top 25 finishes. Volvik player Ilhee Lee won the Pure Silk Bahamas LPGA Classic last season for Volvik’s first ever LPGA Tour victory.

Phatlum had a productive LPGA off-season, winning the Dubai Ladies Masters on the Ladies European Tour December 7 and the Hitachi Ladies Open on the LAGT January 12 with a Pink Vista iS golf ball. Choi finished a career year in 2013 as the highest ranking Volvik player, finishing the year 17th with $739,441 earned. A new player to the Volvik staff, Sunawannapura, won the Hero Women’s Indian Open on the Ladies European Tour Nov. 30 by three shots at the Delhi Golf Club with a new prototype Volvik golf ball. Her victory is the first win for the new hybrid White Color S3 golf ball that launched Jan. 22 at the 2014 PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Fla.
Phatlum and Suwannapura played a Pink Volvik golf ball at the event while Choi played an Orange golf ball. Volvik had 195 total instances of professionals using their Vista golf balls in tournament play on the 2013 LPGA Tour (77 Orange, 71 Yellow, 43 Pink and 3 Green).
Volvik also recently signed PGA TOUR winner Tim Petrovic and Hall of Fame golfer Larry Nelson, who earned Volvik’s first ever Top 25 finish on the Champions Tour January 19 at the Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai.
