Fujikura Unveils New PRO Shaft At PGA Merchandising Show And The Shaft Is Put Into Play On The PGA Tour At Humana

(Vista, CA – January 27, 2014) – Fujikura kicks off another year with consecutive wins on the PGA Tour according to the Darrell Survey and PGATour.com. The winners of the Sony Open and the Humana Challenge used Fujikura Motore Speeder and Fujikura Fuel shafts in their drivers.

While Fujikura shafts were winning on the PGA Tour, Fujikura’s dynamic team of familiar faces was attending the 2014 PGA Merchandising Show in Orlando, FL. where the company unveiled yet another Premium shaft in their winning line-up of performance golf shafts. The Fujikura PRO shaft was ironically put into play by a PGA Tour player just days before the company announced the shaft at the show. The buzz surrounding the new PRO shaft was prominent amongst equipment nuts leading up to the show and since Fujikura made the official announcement last Tuesday, it is the #1 trending golf shaft in online conversations.

Fujikura Golf Director of Sales, Jeremy Butler gives an explanation of the technology used to develop the new Fujikura PRO. “We have integrated technologies that we have used in previous models – HIT and CAGE – this combination has resulted in improved distance, accuracy and feel in the new Pro Series shafts. HIT provides the smart shaping at the tip end of the shaft and this allows for a shifting of the balance point towards the butt end of the shaft allowing the user to achieve higher swing speeds for greater distance. CAGE maintains the stability of the tip section’s thinner walls for accuracy and increased feel during the swing.

The Pro Series is designed with a custom bending profile for each model based on a stiffer tip and mid-section with a more forgiving handle section to allow for improved shaft loading and faster kick speed at impact – leading to increased distance. This is where ENSO has come in with the engineering process for this shaft series – allowing us to be aware of the kick speed numbers and the improvements in the Pro Series shafts over previous shaft designs.

Maximum Carbon Fiber Content in the Pro Series shafts improves the feel for the golfer and allows the use of more plies of graphite in the design and construction of the shafts.”
