ezLocator will be demonstrating its latest software version that includes a Stimpmeter functionality. “There is a direct correlation between green speed and the slope of the green that needs to be considered when placing a hole location,” said Jon Schultz, President of ezLocator. “With our customers’ input we have developed and added this feature to our software,” Schultz added.
“It’s definitely a worthwhile tool and has certainly made my job and the cup cutter’s job much easier, ” said Tom Egelhoff, superintendent at the 36-hole The Club at Las Campanas in Santa Fe, NM. “In addition, we have decreased the personnel time spent on pin placements by about 40 per cent and have reallocated that to other projects.”
Buddy Reed, owner of the Back Creek Golf Club in Middleton, DE, noted that ezLocator took the guesswork out of where the pins are placed. . “This eliminates possible bad ones,” he noted. “It’s also great for managing wear patterns. We already see that it has helped with pace of play. This is useful on weekends or when we have outings. You don’t want six-hour rounds.”
Golf pros like it, too. Kevin Muldoon of the Country Club of York in York, PA, reported that the tournament-quality pin placement handouts made an impressive presentation for many of his members who had never seen anything like before. “It’s a way to provide high-end service and separates us from the other clubs in the area,” Muldoon said. “It was a great time saver for me when I got ready to block the pin placements for my club championship,” he added.
