New resource for digital and social media communications for Troon and Troon facilities
Scottsdale, Ariz. (January 30, 2014) – Troon,® leader in upscale golf course management, development and marketing is pleased to announce it has appointed Ricky Potts to a new position created as the Digital Communications Manager, based out of the company’s corporate headquarters in Scottsdale Ariz. Troon’s marketing and communication strategies are constantly evolving to remain effective, fresh and relevant. Adding this new role to specialize in social media and different forms of digital communications enhances the company’s efforts to meet the preferences of its current customers while forging ahead to reach new customers in innovative ways.
In this new role, Potts will oversee all digital communication including email marketing, web marketing and all social media channels. Potts is charged with the creation and execution of social media strategies for Troon and Troon-managed facilities to include outreach to new customers and business.

Previously a content specialist and social media consultant for Imavex, an internet marketing company based in Noblesville, Ind., Ricky had the chance to work closely with the team at Troon for several years. After leaving Imavex, Ricky transitioned into the role of senior digital account executive at Gannett, Inc. only to realize how much he missed working in golf. Over the years, Ricky has built a digital army of his own followers with a total reach of more than 100,000 people across several networks. Ricky also owns the largest Google+ golf community with more than 10,000 members that continues to grow daily. Originally from Harmony, Ind., Ricky graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science degree.
