Back-to-back wins for SLDR and Adizero One on European Tour
CARLSBAD, Calif. (February 2, 2014) – TaylorMade-adidas Golf Tour Staff professional Stephen Gallacher returned to the winner’s circle at the same tournament he won just one year ago, posting a 66-71-63-72-272 total for a one stroke victory over a field filled with many of the world’s top-ranked players at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic at Emirates Golf Club. The win is Gallacher’s third on the European Tour, who played the SLDR driver and wore adidas Golf adizero one footwear as well as Ashworth Golf apparel.
Gallacher, who previously played a 9° R1, lofted up to 10.5° with his SLDR and finished in to the Top-10 for total driving distance this week. Gallacher was one of 28 players who played the SLDR, making it the No. 1 driver model in the event.
The 39-year old Scot also played SLDR fairways (also No. 1 model) in his successful title defense. Last year, Gallacher grabbed his second career European title at this same event. Once again, he played exceptional at the Emirates Golf Club, specifically on Saturday when he carded a 63 to put himself in position to win on Sunday.
In addition to a bag full of TaylorMade metalwoods and irons, Gallacher also wore the recently-launched adizero one, which at 9.6 ounces, is the lightest cleated performance golf shoe ever developed by adidas Golf. Designers created an all-new, ultra-light one-piece fused upper that bonds together five layers to deliver a consistent glove-like fit with minimum weight and increased comfort during play. Gallacher’s win marks the second week in a row a player in adizero one footwear has won on tour.

With the win, Gallacher jumps into the top 40 in the world, putting him in strong position to play the Masters for the first time in his career.
