Pam Swensen and NWGA Founders Panel
(Orlando, FL) This year at the 2014 National Golf Course Owners and Golf Industry Show, EWGA’s Chief Executive Officer, Pam Swensen, will be sharing the strategies on How Golf Facilities Can “Roll Out the Green Carpet” for Women.
On Wednesday, February 5, the Golf Industry Show features a speaking engagement at 1:30 PM in the Association Clubhouse area. As one of the founding members of the National Women’s Golf Alliance (NWGA), Ms. Swensen will be moderating a discussion on how golf facilities can welcome more women into the game of golf. She will be joined by three other founding partners of NWGA, Jan Bel Jan from Jan Bel Jan Golf Course Designs, Debbie Waitkus, CEO of Golf For a Cause, and Lynn Stellman, President of Ladies’ Links FORE Golf.
The NWGA’s mission is to help facilities grow the game by harnessing decades of experience and knowledge in welcoming women to the game by improving engagement levels of female golfers.
The organization developed standards and best practices to help make golf facilities more inviting and accessible to women. Facilities that achieve a score of at least 80% in three of five key areas earn NWGA’s “Rolling Out the Green Carpet” certification.
“I encourage owners and operators to participate in this session if they are interested in learning strategies on how to make their courses more attractive to women who may be daily fee players or potential club members. With so much attention focused on the growth potential in the women’s golf space, now is the time to genuinely open the doors to women. After all, they are also gatekeepers for their families, too!”
