‘The hottest shafts in golf’ wins wood; hybrid shaft counts in 11 of 11 events on PGA Tour
POWAY, Calif. — Led by the company’s most popular shaft on the PGA Tour, the Tour Blue and Tour Green Aldila turned in an impressive showing at the Waste Management Phoenix Open. Aldila won the driver, wood and hybrid shaft manufacturer counts by double digits in each category, according to the Darrell Survey. Aldila had 12 more driver shafts, 24 more wood shafts and 19 more hybrid shafts in play than the next leading shaft manufacturer.
Winning both the wood and hybrid shaft manufacturer counts marked the 11th time in 11 PGA this season tournaments that Aldila has won both manufacturer counts on Tour. It was the sixth time in 11 events that Aldila had either tied or won the driver shaft manufacturer count.
Twenty-five percent of the field had an Aldila shaft in their driver and the Tour Green 65 and the Rogue™ 70 tied for the number one driver shaft model in play. The Tour Blue 65 and Tour Green 75 tied for the second most driver shaft model used.
“Engineered with the latest materials and manufacturing technology, the Tour Blue/Green shafts are designed to maximize the power of your individual golf swing,” said John Oldenburg, Aldila’s Vice President of Engineering and Product Development. “The constant taper shaft profile provides exceptional feel and a smooth, controlled release. Both shafts are made with Aldila’s Next Generation Micro Laminate Technology™ (MLT). Combined with ultra-thin, ultra strong materials allows the construction of a shaft with outstanding performance and unparalleled consistency.”
Aldila had a total of 105 wood shafts in play, which was 25 percent of all the wood shafts in play at the Waste Management Phoenix Open. There were a total of 65 Tour Blue and Tour Green shafts used by the field. Aldila’s Tour Blue 85 was the number one overall wood shaft model in play with 16. The Tour Green 75 tied for the second most used shaft model with 10 in play and Aldila’s Rogue™ was third most used wood shaft model.
Rounding out the company’s shaft domination, Aldila had a total of 32 hybrid shafts in play, which was more than double the amount of their closest competitor. In fact 31 percent of all hybrid shafts in play were Aldila’s. The Tour Green 105 was the number one hybrid shaft model in play. There were 16 total Tour Blue and Tour Green hybrid shafts used, which was more than any other company had for total hybrid shafts in play.
Aldila also was tied for the number one graphite iron shaft in play with three sets of the RIP Tour 115 irons.
Aldila (www.aldila.com) offers patented shaft design technologies that consistently outperform other shafts available. This technology advantage is the reason Aldila is the most popular graphite shaft on the PGA Tour. Tour professionals recognize Aldila’s advanced performance and year after year that there are more Aldila wood and hybrid shafts in play on Tour than any other shaft manufacturer. Whether the Micro Laminate Technology™ first introduced in Aldila NV™, the most popular graphite ever or today’s Next Generation Micro Laminate Technology, Aldila engineers are continually pushing and advancing high performance graphite golf shaft technology well beyond any other manufacturer.
