Troon-managed facilities honored by the oldest and most authoritative golf resort accolade
Scottsdale, Ariz. (February 10, 2014) – Troon,® the leader in upscale golf course management, development and marketing is pleased to recognize its managed facilities named to Golf Magazine’s “Premier Resorts” rankings for 2014. This year’s list continued the tradition of allowing avid golfers to vote on their favorite properties on the magazine’s website. More than 8,000 golf enthusiasts offered their opinions to build the biennial guide, listing the greatest resort destinations in North America. As noted in the list below, Giants Ridge Golf & Ski Resort, Pronghorn, and Silverado Resort and Spa all made their exciting debut as Silver Medal Resorts while three resorts featuring Troon-managed courses were named yet again as Gold Medal Resorts. In all, 15 resorts featuring Troon-managed golf courses were included in the following categories:

Voting for the “Best Golf Resorts” was based on four criteria: golf, lodging, food & drink, and service. Forty percent of the resort recognition was based on golf, considering factors such as challenge, playability, scenery, history, facilities and service. The rest of the score was equally weighed among lodging, food & drink, and overall service at the resorts.
