Los Angeles, CA – TGA Premier Junior Golf honored five franchises by awarding them the annual “TGA 5 E’s for Excellence Awards”. The awards were presented at the annual TGA Franchise Summit recently held at the La Quinta Resort in La Quinta, California.
“Every year we look forward to honoring our top entrepreneurial franchises for their excellence in growing their business and the game of golf,” said Joshua Jacobs, founder and CEO of TGA Premier Junior Golf. “TGA HQ is very proud of this year’s winners and the commitment they have given to students and families across the country introducing them to golf and retaining them through our five-level enrichment curriculum.”
The 5 E’s are engrained into TGA’s business culture as well as the TGA curriculum, which guide the interaction of the youth. The 5 E’s include Educate, Embrace, Empower, Explore, and Engage. The following TGA franchise owners earned the honors this year:
Educate Award – Paul Maskill, TGA of West Wake County in North Carolina, earned the Educate Award that is given to the territory who shows the highest level of dedication to the quality of programs and excellent customer service. The reward also reflects his great communication to customers and effective hiring and training process for coaches at the schools.
Embrace Award – Champ Detamore, PGA – TGA of Charlotte in North Carolina and PGA professional earned the Embrace Award that is given to the territory that retains the most students annually through after-school programs, summer camps, and other golf course based transition programs. Detamore, the owner of one of the largest franchises in the country, has developed excellent strategies for communicating and showing the value of TGA to parents, which has effectively increased retention and grown his business.
Joe Holiday Empower Award – Troy Lewis, PGA – TGA of West DFW in Texas and PGA professional earned the Empower Award that is given to the territory that generates the most revenue during the calendar year. Lewis, who owns one of the most successful TGA franchises, deploys excellent marketing and pricing strategies that showcases the great value TGA programs provide and accessibility to golf. Lewis has also won the Player Development Award and Junior Golf Leader from the North Texas PGA section.
Michael Jacobs Explore Award – Brad Kirkpatrick, TGA of North Seattle, Washington earned the Explore Award that is given to the territory that is the leader in impacting and developing community relationships. Through his fundraising efforts, Kirkpatrick raised over $4,500 in his community that fully funded a summer golf camp program for the local Rainier Vista Boys and Girls Club.
Lee Warner Engage Award – Dave Robinson, TGA of Southeast Michigan earned the Engage Award that is given to the territory who gives back to the TGA organization as a whole, for the benefit of the multi-national organization and the betterment of the brand. This is the third year in a row that Robinson has earned this honor. Robinson has become a mentor to TGA Franchises by providing advice and consulting with fellow franchisee’s including being very instrumental in working with TGA’s new franchises in Canada.
