Andrade makes six birdies and has his best statistical day on the greens using new putter
(Flagler Beach, FL) – As a sponsor of the Allianz Championships, Cure Putters hosted a demonstration tent on the main putting green of the Old Course at Broken Sound. Co-inventor and former PGA TOUR Commissioner Deane Beman was on hand to fit interested “shoppers” and to explain the virtues of the Cure RX2. Among the Champions Tour players who stopped by to roll the RX2 was Billy Andrade. Billy was making his Champions Tour debut and he spent some time working with Deane on some putting tips and tested the RX2. For Sunday’s final round of the tournament, Andrade put the RX2 into play and had his best statistical day of the week on the greens. Andrade made six birdies, three on each side, and lowered his Putts Per Greens in Regulation to 1.615 from 2.000 the previous day and 1.750 in the opening round. His 2-under par that day was also his best round of the tournament.
Said Commissioner Beman, “Billy and I really worked on his grip more than anything, but we fit him to the Cure RX2 and he took it with him. Somewhere over the weekend he must have decided it was a good fit for him, and I’m excited he had success with it.”
“I saw Billy on the green with Deane and couldn’t believe he was 50 years old”, said Veritas Golf Company CEO Jim McCarthy. He continued, “Billy will be a great addition to the Champions Tour and I am thrilled he had a good day rolling the RX2. We are looking forward to rooting him on this week in Naples at the Ace Group Classic.”
From a marketing perspective, the makers of the RX2 could not be happier. Said spokesperson Mark D. Berman of MediaShare Consulting Group in Jacksonville, who’s company manages the marketing for Cure Putters, “This is exactly what we hoped would happen. Our goal taking a visible and prominent role at the Allianz Championships was to get the putters into the hands of Champions Tour players, media and fans.” He continued, “I’m happy for Deane and for the folks behind this new technology because Billy’s success with the RX2 really validated their message. As the only fully customizable putter on the market, with the largest sweet spot and highest MOI, complete with the Commissioner’s triangulation aiming system, this putter is going to revolutionize the short game. We’re most happy for Billy, that he had a great day with it.”
Founded by PGA Professional, Jeff Ryan, and partner Steve Davis, an architect with a scratch handicap, the Veritas Golf Company first developed the Cure Rx1 putter, which represented a breakthrough in putter engineering from several perspectives. Based on the highest MOI face in the industry, adjustable lie angles, customizable weights, right or left hand adjustable, Beman says “the Rx1 made every other putter obsolete.”
Beman and Davis took that science-based philosophy one step further to develop the revolutionary Cure Rx2 Putter, which incorporates the eye-popping triangulation alignment system developed by Beman. This stunning new putter is simply easier to align than traditional linear alignment putters. The ball forms the “point” of a triangle with the two alignment discs on the heel and toe of the putter. This triangle can be easily, naturally and dependably aimed on the line of the putt. The Cure RX Putters are now available online through the Veritas Website (www.cureputters.com) and through the clubs and stores they signed at the Merchandise Show. The RX1 retails for $199 and the RX2 retails for $269.

Committed to game-improving equipment through better engineering, its first putter, the Cure RX1 represented a breakthrough in putter engineering from several perspectives, including the functional requirements of lie adjustability and increased moment of inertia. Its second invention, in collaboration with Deane Beman, the Cure Rx2 Putter, is a breakthrough in putter alignment.
