Indoor center provides world-class, tour-caliber improvement tools and technologies
Catalyst Golf Performance (CPG) has expanded its new Lincoln Park Indoor Performance Center programs to coach and train junior athletes starting from as young as three-years-old through college.
These new programs include early development programs, junior athletic training and motor development programs, golf skill instruction, competitive strategy coaching and collegiate placement mentoring. Catalyst has a room designated for young children’s specific orientation and golf and athletic skills training using SNAG’s latest youth development equipment and other learning tools.
“We are dedicated to the highest standard of junior golf development,” says Michael Napoleon, Director of Golf Instruction and Managing Partner of Catalyst Golf Performance. “From our youth programs based in deeply researched Long Term Athletic Development methodologies to our Tour-proven elite athlete coaching strategies, there is truly no better way for a junior golfer to reach the highest levels of excellence.”
Catalyst’s younger junior programs include the Skill Zone, Fun Zone and Early Athletes offerings in addition to Catalyst All-Stars and Elite Stars:
• Skill Zone is for 9 to 11- year-old children and features instruction and coaching on a number of different golf-specific skills and strategies. Children at this age are at the best time in their lives to learn fine motor control and skill detail. This program balances this development with continued dedication to proper athletic development and exercise form.
• Fun Zone is for children 5 to 8-years-old and uses variety of different training methods and tools (toys!) to create a fun and exciting atmosphere for our junior. During this period in development, junior athletes have the best chance in their lives to learn speed, agility and many key locomotion and motor skills.
• The Early Athletes program for Ages 3-4 is about getting athletes off on the right start. The program focuses on motor pattern development and basic locomotion skills in a fun and interactive environment where both the child and the parent can interact.
• Catalyst All-Stars and Elite All-Stars programs are for juniors older than 12 years of age. They offer just the right mix and different levels of private golf instruction and structured group coaching classes. Each student goes through our full Catalyst Golf Performance Game Assessment and has a personal interactive online program portal. The students attend a weekly group practice and training session to work on their programs and learn in a fun and competitive environment.
“Our team of Titleist Performance Institute Certified Junior Golf Coaches has the knowledge, equipment, and experience to help any aspiring junior golfer reach an elite level with the game of golf,” says Napoleon. “Whether the primary goal is to play on Tour or enjoy a lifetime of golf fun and enjoyment, our programs will provide the athletic foundation and skills necessary for success.”
“Our junior programs are additional assets in Catalyst’s leadership position in golf performance in Chicago. We are already working with a number of juniors of various ages from Chicagoland schools to improve their performance,” says Napoleon. “Many of these students are taking advantage of our indoor or outdoor coaching sessions, indoor fitness and physical conditioning and indoor or outdoor short game instruction all-year round.”
The Catalyst team also has provided biomechanical analysis for PGA Tour Player Luke Donald, data collection for the renowned Northwestern University golf team, and coached Philip Arouca to the 2011 Illinois Open Championship.
