Powerhouses combining top educational and golf experiences Include Stanford University, University of Florida and Vanderbilt University
(ORLANDO, Fla.) – The ANNIKA Academy – Hall-of-Fame golfer Annika Sorenstam’s boutique golf instruction and fitness school – announces several ELITE Training Program Athletes who have committed to play at premier NCAA Division I schools.
The ELITE Training Program is specifically designed to help aspiring golfers achieve their goals on the golf course, in the classroom and in life. ELITE Athletes receive golf, fitness and nutrition coaching that showcases Annika’s “Winning Approach” philosophy, and teaches them how to apply it to achieve competitive success. Some ELITE Athletes attending college or recently accepting scholarship offers are:
• Shannon Aubert, a high school senior coached by ANNIKA Academy Director of Golf Instruction Henri Reis for several years, will play for Stanford University this fall
• Samantha Wagner, a high school junior and three-time AJGA Rolex All-American, has made a verbal commitment to the University of Florida
• Simin Feng, a former ELITE Athlete and graduate of Orlando’s Windermere Prep, is currently a freshman at Vanderbilt University and finished second on the team with a tournament stroke average of 72.2
“The ELITE Program is about more than just golf,” says Annika, who personally shares her “Your 59” mental training and visualization strategies with students. “Swing-specific fitness regimens, top-tier educational opportunities and safe, comfortable housing are integral to the ELITE experience.”
Led by LPGA winner and 1993 NCAA Champion, Charlotta Sorenstam, and Reis, Annika’s only swing coach since she was 10 years old, the ELITE Training Program’s level of instruction is unmatched.
“Students receive top-notch, personalized coaching from our hands-on team,” says David Allibone, Athlete Recruiter. “Henri, Charlotta, fitness expert Kai Fusser and 15-year instruction veteran Mark Bereza are a tight-knit group dedicated to improving lives on and off the course.”
Other juniors participating in ANNIKA Academy ELITE Athlete training include Lohamna Larrison (playing at Florida Tech), Matilda Cappeliez (Europe’s 9th ranked junior), Rocco and Amadeo Figus and Tiago Rodrigues.
Even elementary school-aged children, like seven-year-old Natalie Quioines who finished second in the 2013 U.S. Kids Fall Series, excel under the tutelage of ELITE Program instructors.
At the other end of the spectrum, the ELITE program also caters to professionals aspiring to take the next step in their competitive careers. Some who have relied upon the ELITE program include Anna Nordqvist (2009 LPGA Champion), Jonas Blixt (two-time PGA TOUR winner), and Louise Friberg (LPGA and Symetra Tour player).
