GolfGetaways Magazine Finds America’s Best Family Destinations

February 20, 2014

Braintree, Mass. – As the “grow the game” mantra continues to reverberate through the world of golf, one thing is certain to help keep folks playing: More fami-ly-friendly destinations. Getting kids involved while keeping Mom and Dad happy is priority one for a lot of resorts and courses these days, which makes the March-April 2014 issue of GolfGetaways magazine such a valuable resource for vacation planners.

Available on newsstands Feb. 25, the new edition of GolfGetaways – which took Outstanding Achievement honors at the recent International Network of Golf Media Awards – finds a wealth of top-notch travel options for America’s army of golfing families.

“Our editors and writers cover a lot of ground each year to seek out the best places to spend a golfing getaway, but we’re seeing a huge surge in family-centric offerings from resorts from coast to coast,” says Executive Editor Vic Williams. “As a guy with two kids still at home, I certainly appreciate that, and I hope many fellow parents will find this issue an informative and inspiring source of ideas for their next golf-oriented family trip.”

Featured destinations include Whistler, British Columbia; cover subject Branson, Mo.; Grizzly Ranch in Northern California; Grand Del Mar in Southern California; and quick-hit looks at Cape Cod, Cooperstown, Hershey, Kohler and many others. And E. Nolan’s heartfelt chronicle of traveling the country with his young son puts a memo-rable finish on the coverage.

Other issue highlights: A special “Fairways Living” section highlighting real estate developments in Georgia, Nevada and Puerto Rico and a rundown of favorite prod-ucts and services from the 2014 PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando.

GolfGetaways is also available for tablet and other mobile devices and in a new, more interactive format powered by MAZ. The app is free for download via Apple’s Newsstand, Amazon and Google Play, with each digital edition available for $3.99. An expanded version of the magazine’s “101 Holes You’ve Gotta Play” issue gets special extended coverage on iPad starting on Feb. 24.

GolfGetaways is published by Madavor Media, which owns enthusiast magazines and web channels across several interest areas, from sports to music, wellness to surf fashion and culture.
