Winners of the 2014 FCG International Team Championship at Sycuan Resort will now receive new Callaway Golf Big Bertha Drivers (http://www.callawaygolf.com/big-bertha) and a complimentary fitting for the club.
This summer at the 7th Annual FCG International (formerly the San Diego Junior Masters) held on July 7-9, 2014 at Sycuan Resort, there will be a new Team Championship for players to participate in alongside the individual championship. The new format will consist of teams consisting of two Boys 15-18 & two Girls 15-18, representing either a country, golf academy or other organization (Ex: Team Hong Kong or Team FCG Academy). Multiple teams from the same organization can be submitted. Team champions will be determined by a 36-hole stroke play format. All four team member scores will be counted each round, combined for a total team score at the end of two rounds.
The new team championship is another effort to make the FCG International the largest event in junior golf. FCG hopes to receive multiple team submissions from state golf organizations and junior golf academies from around the world. With 624 participants in 2013, FCG is hoping to reach the 800-player mark in 2014!
