Alpharetta, Ga. – Mosaic Clubs & Resorts has named Ray Garbiras as general manager at The Georgia Club, an upscale, planned golf community just east of Atlanta, near the college town of Athens, Ga., according to company president, Steve Willy.

Garbiras brings over 20 years of club and golf management background to The Georgia Club. He most recently headed a Nashville-based entrepreneurial venture in the golf industry. Prior to that Garbiras was general manager at RiverTowne Country Club, host of the 2007 and 2008 Annika Sorenstam LPGA Invitational in Mt. Pleasant, S.C.

He previously held the general manager position at Windermere Golf Club and Olde Atlanta Golf Club, both located in north Atlanta. Prior to that, Garbiras was general manager at Cobblestone Golf Course, which is located in Acworth, Ga., and is also managed by Mosaic.

“It is wonderful to have Ray back on board with Mosaic,” said Willy. “Ray prides himself on his attention to detail, strong member relationships and leading his employees to better serve club members. He will be a great addition to The Georgia Club.”

Originally from Johnson City, Tenn., Garbiras attended Bluefield College in Virginia. He has been a Class-A member of the PGA of America since 1999.
