ANAHEIM, CA. – March 11, 2014 – The First Tee of Orange County, CA, a non-profit organization formed to impact the young people of Orange County, is pleased to announce that the chapter will have an on-site presence at the largest and most exciting event in Orange County, the PGA Champions Tour 2014 Toshiba Classic.
Most PGA Tour events are structured as a non-profit entity with the majority of the proceeds benefiting charity and PGA Champions Tour Toshiba Classic is an outstanding example of that. It is owned and operated by the Hoag Hospital Foundation, which has raised over 16 million dollars for charity. In addition to supporting Hoag, The Toshiba Classic and Toshiba America, Inc. use this tournament as a platform to benefit the Orange County community which is far reaching. It includes schools, charities as well as the economy.
According to The First Tee of Orange County President Tim Casey, “Participating in The Toshiba Classic provides us an opportunity to reach out one-on-one to potential participants as well as potential volunteers. Our entire team at The First Tee of Orange County thanks the charitable group at The Toshiba Classic for their generosity to the community and for letting our program benefit by it.”
The First Tee of Orange County booth will be located at the entrance of the event amongst the other booths and will be open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, March 14th through March 16th. Please visit us there to learn more about the program. The PGA Champions Tour 2014 Toshiba Classic is held from March 10th through March 16th at the Newport Beach County Club in Newport Beach, CA. Tickets can be purchased at Roger Dunn stores around Orange County or at the Main Admission Gate at the Newport Beach County Club.
The First Tee of Orange County impacts the young people in the Orange County community through its life skills education and character training. Each of these participants will be introduced to the lifelong sport of golf while learning skills such as goal-setting, managing emotions and resolving conflicts. The program emphasizes Nine Core Values™ (confidence, responsibility, respect, honesty, judgment, perseverance, sportsmanship, integrity, and courtesy) at every level of instruction.
