Flatso design gains immediate popularity among SuperStroke users on tour

WIXOM, Mich. – With the help of SuperStroke’s Flatso Ultra grip the winner of the Arnold Palmer Invitational captured his first career PGA Tour victory. He finished the tournament third overall in Strokes Gained Putting with a 1.616 average. The stat measures a player’s putting performance relative to his fellow competitors in a tournament.

While some seemed to struggle with putting during the final round at Bay Hill, the Central Florida native gained nearly four putts over the competition (3.902) in his final round. He improved his PGA Tour average in Strokes Gained Putting moving from seventh to fifth place with an average gain of nearly one putt (.950) per round. So far this season he has gained a total of 29.459 putts. He also finished the tournament third in Putts Per Greens In Regulation with an average of 1.654.

The fourth place finisher at the Arnold Palmer also played SuperStroke’s Flatso Ultra grip. He finished the tournament fifth in Strokes Gained Putting with an average of 1.484. He also tied for 10th in Putts Per Greens in Regulation with a 1.714 average.

The Flatso line has gained tremendous popularity on the PGA Tour since the launch of the Flatso Ultra at the 2014 PGA Merchandise Show.

“Within the first week at the 2104 Sony Open in Hawaii, 50 percent of the SuperStroke users on Tour switched to the Flatso grip,” said Jon Luna, SuperStroke USA Marketing Director. “Currently 40 percent of all SuperStroke users have switched from the standard design SuperStroke grip to the Flatso.”

The Flatso line features SuperStroke’s patented parallel design technology and a new patent pending pentagonal shape and flat top design. The parallel technology allows for even pressure in both hands, while eliminating added tension in the wrist and forearms. This helps the golfer’s arms swing more freely, which further enhances a pendulum-putting stroke.

“The characteristics of the Flatso line help inhibit wrist action and promote shoulder rotation for added consistency in your putting stroke,” Luna said. “The pentagonal shape allows players looking for the feel of a pistol grip option in the SuperStroke line.”

Jordan Spieth, 2013 PGA Tour Rookie of the Year, first used the Flatso at last season’s HP Byron Nelson Championship. In the past few weeks Jason Dufner, 2013 PGA Championship winner, has even made the change to a Flatso.
