“The Hottest Shafts In Golf” sweeps driver, wood, hybrid shaft manufacturer counts at Arnold Palmer Invitational
POWAY, Calif. – Benefitting from the outstanding performance and unparalleled consistency of Aldila’s Tour Blue shaft in his 3 Wood, the winner of the Arnold Palmer Invitational captured his first PGA Tour victory by one stroke. He finished with a 13-under 275 (69-70-66-70) and collected $1,116,000, the largest check of his career. He also earned a trip to the Masters, spots in two World Golf Championship events and a spot at the PGA Championship.
Aldila’s Tour Blue shaft was also instrumental for the winner of the Panama Claro Championship. Playing the Tour Blue 105 TX shaft in his hybrid club, the Panama Claro champ picked up his first tournament win on the Web.com Tour by four strokes finishing with a 12-under 268 (70-68-66-64). With the win and the $112,500 first place check, he moved to second place on the Web.com Tour money list.
“The Tour Blue is moderate stiff tip shaft and very low torque designed for a slightly higher ball flight with low to moderate spin rate,” said John Oldenburg, Aldila’s Vice President of Engineering and Product Development. “The Tour Blue shaft profile has a constant taper to provide exceptional feel and a smooth, controlled release. It is made with the latest generation of Aldila’s Micro Laminate materials (MLT). The ultra thin, ultra strong material allows for the construction of a shaft with outstanding performance and unparalleled consistency.”
Aldila’s Next Generation Micro Laminate Technology is comprised of ultra-thin layers of premium, low resin aerospace grade materials. This design evolution eliminates inconsistent shaft performance caused by material variability. Redesigned tooling also raises the shaft balance point, making this the perfect upgrade for today’s modern club head designs.
“The Hottest Shafts In Golf” also won the driver, wood and hybrid shaft manufacturer counts at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Aldila had 3 more driver shafts, 25 more wood shafts and nearly twice as many hybrid shafts in play than its next competitor, according to the Darrell Survey.
So far this season on the PGA Tour, Aldila has won or tied the driver shaft manufacturer count at 11 of 19 events, won the wood shaft manufacturer count at 17 of 19 events and won 19-19 hybrid shaft manufacturer counts.
Aldila’s latest shaft offering, Rogue, was the top Driver Shaft Model at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. The Tour Green 65 shaft was the second leading shaft model in play. Aldila also had the top wood shaft models in play at the Arnold Palmer. The Rogue and the Tour Blue 75 shafts tied for first with 13 of each wood shaft model in play.
Aldila (www.aldila.com) offers patented shaft design technologies that consistently outperform other shafts available. This technology advantage is the reason Aldila is the most popular graphite shaft on the PGA Tour. Tour professionals recognize Aldila’s advanced performance and year after year that there are more Aldila wood and hybrid shafts in play on Tour than any other shaft manufacturer. Whether the Micro Laminate Technology™ first introduced in Aldila NV™, the most popular graphite ever or today’s Next Generation Micro Laminate Technology, Aldila engineers are continually pushing and advancing high performance graphite golf shaft technology well beyond any other manufacturer.
