(Palm Beach Gardens, FL) The EWGA (Executive Women’s Golf Association) is heading to San Antonio, Texas for their 2014 Annual Conference. Empower ’14, which will be held April 6-8, and will bring members and guests from around the country together to experience power-packed golf activities, meet LPGA Legends and hear from renowned guest speakers. This year, the EWGA has invited the USGA’s Director of Strategic Projects, Hunki Yun, to discuss the USGA’s pace of play initiative.
Yun has become an advocate for addressing pace of play, one of the biggest threats to the game’s sustainability. Introduced in 2013, the “While We’re Young” campaign has increased awareness of the issue and will be complemented by educational programs for both golfers and course managers.
Yun will discuss other components of the USGA’s initiative, including the study of golfers’ on-course behavior, the TEE IT FORWARD program, as well as the promotion of nine-hole rounds and alternate formats that are just as enjoyable, but take less time than the standard individual stroke-play format.
The EWGA annual gathering is a popular event for members and individuals who want to learn, engage and experience all that golf has to offer both on and off the course.
