Tuesday, March 25, 2014 – LPGA star and OMEGA brand ambassador Stacy Lewis entertained OMEGA clients, customers and guests Monday and Tuesday at two exclusive events on March 24 and 25.
On the evening of Monday, March 24, Lewis was the featured guest at a reception and photo signing held at the OMEGA Boutique – Fashion Valley in San Diego.
On Tuesday, March 25 at 9 a.m., Lewis hosted an exclusive clinic at The Grand Del Mar for OMEGA guests and golf club members. Lewis shared her insight and knowledge on the golf swing and the game of golf. Guests were the invited onto the golf course for a nine-hole shotgun-start tournament.
The events at the OMEGA Boutique – Fashion Valley and at The Grand Del Mar celebrated Lewis’ relationship with OMEGA as well as the brand’s role as Official Timekeeper of The PGA of America events and its support for the sport of golf in the U.S.
Lewis is currently the third-ranked player in the world and has already posted three top-10 finishes in 2014, recording her season-best at the Pure Silk-Bahamas LPGA Classic where she finished second.
Lewis is the winner of eight LPGA victories including two majors. Her most recent win was at the 2013 RICOH Women’s British Open (her second major). In 2013, Lewis earned the Vare Trophy award for lowest scoring average for the season. In 2012, Lewis earned Player of the Year honors following a four-win season.
The 29-year-old, who was born in Toledo, Ohio, grew up near Houston, Texas. From the age of 11, Lewis wore a back brace 18 hours per day for 7 ½ years to correct curvature in her spine from scoliosis. She underwent surgery to insert a titanium rod and five screws after senior year of high school. After long months of rehab, Stacy went on to become the first athlete to win any major sports championship with a fused spine. She played college golf at the University of Arkansas and graduated in 2008 with a degree in Finance and Accounting.
